About
Maki is a visual artist holding Masters degree in Sculpting, Free Design, and Fine Arts. Current inspiration and residence is near the Canadian Rockies. The deep connection to nature and mountain landscape is reflected in art works inspired by the climbing community and playing on the First Nations Land.
Education:
Masters Degree in Sculpting and Fine Arts brings a different perspective on landscape, public space, and interaction within any space. Art is here for us to interact with, bring up social issues, and to free our minds. Completed at the University of Technology Brno - Faculty of Fine Arts 2007.
Batchelor Degree with focus on Art History was a huge motivation to acquire a Teaching Certificate and bring art history to children and to expand their creativity, imagination, and original approach. Completed at the University of Technology Brno - Faculty of Fine Arts 2004, 2005.
Climbing is lifestyle. Inspiration and deep love for nature brings us out of our comfort zone, high up. Climbing mountains, cliffs, and frozen waterfalls brings you into the most beautiful and stunning landscapes. Fighting elements of nature and your own emotions is ground for growth. Completed at Charles University, Faculty of Physical Education and Sports - Certificate instructor of climbing 2011.
Discovering new landscapes, countries, and people is the nature we all need. We are meant to move and learn. I am patient to help others move forward, grow, and learn. Opening the doors to do more motivated me to complete the Child Development Assistant Certificate in Calgary 2016.
Values: honesty and clarity
Over the years, I have been fortunate to collaborate with some excellent mentors on some wonderful projects, from sculpting, restoration works, painting, to teaching. I experienced the best learning from friends, building strong relationships is a key to explore more than we can imagine. Building an openminded and creative environment is a key to satisfaction.
